Use Those Mats: Use doormats to keep dirt being from coming into your home and shake them out often. This will reduce the amount of dirt being tracked across your stone tile floor and will reduce the wear to the finished surface.
Sweep & Vacuum: Regular sweeping loosens and removes most dirt. A vacuum cleaner can also be used to sweep, but make sure to turn off the beater bar on your vacuum’s settings to avoid dulling and scratching the surface. Vacuum cleaner attachments are also great to extract dirt along edges and cabinet toe kicks.
Mopping: Dust mopping and damp mopping your natural stone floor will help keep it looking beautiful.
Proper Cleanser: Use products specifically designed for cleaning stone as they are formulated with proper pH for cleaning your stone floor.
Avoid highly acidic OTC products or natural cleansers such as lemon juice or vinegar, abrasive cleaners, or any ammonia-based cleaners. These products will dull the floor’s luster.
Use Stone Sealer: Remember that each stone has its own level of porosity. The more porous the stone, the more likely it will stain. Sealing your stone floor now and again is a good idea. Mark it on your calendar or enter it into your smartphone calendar.
